                   Archaeology Hunt!

Monday 8th February 2010

Our friendly archaeologist Mr Kevin Cale arrives with some very interesting looking plastic tubs!

Inside each one are several artefacts that need excavating very carefully indeed!

Jack wonders what treasures lie buried beneath the soil...
Small diamond trowels were used to scrape away the layers.
And finds were carefully described and documented.
Sarah took her time to make sure she did not miss anything!
This archaeology lark is certainly dirty work!
Aha! I think I've found something!
Eureka! (To quote a famous Greek mathematician and scientist). Let's head for the British Museum!
Harry brushing up on his archaeology too!
Mr Cale kept control of proceedings, and informed Harry that his magical find dated back ... ooo ... ages!
Sarah had a very successful morning and placed all her archaeological finds in a plastic bag for safe keeping.

Not forgetting that many hands make exciting work!

Thanks to Mr Kevin Cale for a great day! All the Key Stage Two children had an opportunity to experience life as an archaeologist.

Who knows? They might be digging for Roman remains in a few years time!
